Match Preview: Dundee v Cowdenbeath

Posted December 13, 2010

The Blue Brazil hope to get back into action against Dundee at Dens Park on Tuesday night for the first time in almost a month.

Jimmy Nicholl's team have not played, mainly due to the weather, since the 2-0 defeat away to Peterhead in the Scottish Cup on the 20th of November. The weather has also severely disrupted Nicholl's training schedule which is not ideal preperation fo face in-form Dundee who had the benefit of match action at the weekend - a game they won 1-0 away to Greenock Morton.

"It will be great to get back to playing football but the timing is not ideal due to the difficulties we have had organising training sessions due to the weather", commented Nicholl.

"We have prepared the best we can and the players have kept themselve fit. We have a fully-fit squad, except for Dene Droudge and Dan Mackay, but we may have to make full use of the bench over the course of the 90 minutes.

"Dundee are a very good side and are one of the form teams in the division at the moment. But we have beaten them once already this season so are more than capable of going to Dens Park and getting a result. Dundee will be a different proposition from that day though and we will have to be at our best to get anything from the game."

The enforced break has allowed injuries to Joe Mbu, John Armstrong, Kenny Adamson and Richard Vauls to clear up but all four's return to full match fitness has been hampered by lack of training and game time.
