Club Statement - Game Off

Cowdenbeath Football Club is extremely disappointed to announce that the Fife derby between Cowdenbeath and Dunfermline this weekend has been postponed due to the strike action by category one referees.

All games in the SPL will go ahead as planned along with the ALBA Challenge Cup final and Scottish Cup ties but the Scottish Football League is the big loser with only one game going ahead. The SFA have only managed to secure a limited number of replacement match officials and have prioritised the top flight games and cup ties with only one set of match officials made available for the entire SFL programme. Accordingly, the SFL drew lots for the 1st Division games with Greenock Morton v Falkirk getting the go ahead.

Tickets and hospitality will be valid for the new date which will be announced in due course.
