Reserve & Academy update

The second string resume their Reserve League Cup campaign on Monday night (22nd) when they face Clyde at the Broadwood Stadium with a 7.30pm kick off. The game was originally a home fixture but was switched due to the ongoing work on the floodlight upgrade at Central Park which is due to complete later this week.

The Blue Brazil under 19 side lost two goals in the closing minutes as the 'mini' Fife derby with Dunfermline Athletic ended in a 3-3 draw at Beath High on Sunday morning. Cowden's goals came courtesy of Thomas O'Brien and a double from joint top scorer Simon Docherty (pictured). Simon tops the goalscoring charts along with Jack Nicholson on 6 goals followed closely by Kyle Miller on 4 and Callum Strang on 3.

Meanwhile, 18-year old central defender Steven Bennett scored for Bellshill Athletic in their recent 4-2 win over Kilwinning Rangers. Bennett is on loan with the junior side until January and has been a regular starter but is still able to also turn out for Cowden featuring for both the reserves and the under 19s.
