Shot shy Cowden put in an uncharacteristicly flat performanace as Partick Thistle picked up all three points.

The only goal of the game came after 53 minutes when a shot from Kris Doolan was deflected into the path of the unmarkedLiam Buchanan and the former Central Parker had all the time in the world to slot home from close range.

Mark Ramsay and Brian Fairbairn had the best opportunities for the Blue Brazi but their second half efforts failed to seriously test trialist keeper Scott Fox.

Ludo Roy made his debut in goal in place of the suspended David Hay and the veteran keeper showed his class with two outstanding stops to deny Martin Hardie and Liam Buchanan either side of halt-time.
