Red card for Hay

10-man Blue Brazil pushed Brechin City all the way but a soft penalty award in the 2nd half handed Brechin the points.

Cowden were reduced to 10-men early in the game for the second successive week when David Hay was adjudged to have impeded Ian Harty in the box and was shown a straight red card after 8 minutes. Rory McAllister skied the spot kick over sub keeper Kris Bower's bar but the Glebe Park side opened the scoring after 31 minutes through Steve Canning.

Cowden fought back and equalised 5 minutes before the break thanks to a superb John Dempster volley and Jay Stein almost found a second goal with a spectacular effort on the stroke of half-time.

The Blue Brazil were holding their own in the 2nd half until Brechin were awarded their second penalty of the afternoon and Ian Harty made no mistake from the spot. McAllister wrapped up the points with 12 minutes remaining.
