Injury ravaged Cowden suffered a heavy defeat at the New Falkirk Stadium despite putting up a spirited performance.

Jimmy Nicholl's side were up against it with nine first team players unavailable and found themselves three down at the break after goals from Jack Compston (11), Mark Stewart (22) and Mark Millar (34) for the home side.

The Blue Brazil matched their full-time opponents in the second period, with substitute Greg Stewart particularly impressive, but further goals from Finnigan (69) and Millar (pen, 79) put Falkirk 5-0 up before Mark Ramsay netted a deserved consolation from the spot with seven minutes remaining.
