Match Preview: Morton v Cowdenbeath

Posted September 10, 2010

It's back to domestic football this weekend after the international break and the Blue Brazil face an experienced Greenock Morton side at Cappielow.

Goals from Brian Fairbairn and John Armstrong during the last outing two weeks ago secured a 2-1 home win over Partick Thistle and a place in the top six. The opening four games have produced a healthy dividend of six points from a possible twelve and Jimmy Nicholl's men will be hoping to get something from a difficult game at Cappielow this weekend.

Joe Mbu could come into contention for the first time this season after making his comeback from injury in a recent bounce game but the game will come to soon for Jon Robertson. Long-term absentess Dene Droudge and Danny Mackay will again miss out.

The Cowden team will be familiar to Morton manager Allan Moore after his former side Stirling Albion won promotion alongside the Blue Brazil last term. The Greenock club added loan signing Sean Fitzharris from Celtic on the eve of the game and the striker is expected to feature on Saturday.
