We also heard the sad news this week of the death of Lisbon Lion, John Clark.
John of course represented Celtic and Scotland with great distinction. Here at Central Park though, he has a special place in our memories as our manager in the mid-1980s. John built a fine side that is still fondly recalled to this day featuring such players as Raymond Allan, Stewart Williamson, Kenny Ward, Ian Paterson, Colin McGlashan, Davie Armour, Grant Tierney and Drew Rutherford. He indeed made a telling contribution as our manager. In recent years it was also a delight to catch up with John when we played Celtic 'B' in the Lowland League. He loved to talk about his days at Central Park - and we enjoyed his tales.
Our thoughts at this sad time go out to all John's friends and family.
