MATCH PREVIEW - HEART OF MIDLOTHIAN B (H)

Posted April 5, 2025

After three successive road trips we return to Central Park for our penultimate home Park’s Motor Group Lowland League game of the season.

Our 5-0 win at Bo’ness on Wednesday night lifted us into tenth place leapfrogging today’s visitors and East Stirlingshire who are two points behind us.

THE OPPOSITION

Hearts have won ten games so far this season against East Stirlingshire (4-1), Gala Fairydean Rovers (5-1), Linlithgow Rose (4-3), Berwick Rangers (6-1 & 2-1), Broxburn Athletic (1-0), Civil Service Strollers (5-2), University of Stirling (3-1), East Stirlingshire (2-1) and Gretna 2008 (4-1).

Six draws have come against University of Stirling (2-2), Cumbernauld Colts (0-0), Celtic B (2-2), Cowden (0-0), Linlithgow Rose (1-1) and Broomhill (1-1). Fifteen defeats have come against Tranent (0-1& 2-4), Gretna 2008 (1-6), Bo’ness United (0-2), Broomhill (0-2), Caledonian Braves (2-3 & 0-1), East Kilbride (1-4 & 2-3), Celtic B (1-2), Albion Rovers (0-3), Cumbernauld Colts (1-2), Civil Service Strollers (0-2), Bo’ness United (3-4) and Gala Fairydean Rovers (0-4).

In the SPFL Trust Trophy they drew 1-1 with Fraserburgh but lost 5-4 on penalties at Bellslea Park.

PREVIOUS PARK’S MOTOR GROUP LOWLAND LEAGUE MEETINGS

The first meeting of the sides in August 2022 saw a 1-1 draw at Ferguson Park where Connor Smith cancelled out MacKenzie Lemon’s opener. The return game at Central Park saw a 3-1 win with goals from Sam Newman, Scott Walker and Scott Sinclair with Callum Sandilands scoring for the Wee Jambos.

Last season we won 2-1 at Ainslie Park with Josh Jack and Jamie Docherty scoring either side of Bailey Dall’s equaliser. The return game saw a similar score with Robbie McNab and Gregor Jordan putting us two up before Callum Sandilands pulled a goal back.

In this season’s game at Ainslie Park the sides fought out a goal less draw in November.
