MATCH PREVIEW - BO'NESS UNITED (A)

Our third successive away game see’s us head over the River Forth to Face Bo’ness United at Newtown Park in the Park’s Motor Group Lowland League with a 7.45pm. kick off.

The match was originally scheduled for Saturday but was delayed due to Bo’ness taking part in the Lowland League Cup Final on Sunday, which they lost 3-1 to East Kilbride.

Our hosts currently sit in ninth place in the table three places and four points ahead of us.


THE OPPOSITION

Bo’ness have won ten of their 30 games this season against Albion Rovers (2-1), Civil Service Strollers (3-2), Gretna 2008 (3-0 & 1-0), Hearts B (2-0 & 4-3), Berwick Rangers (1-0), Cowden (2-1), East Stirlingshire (2-1) and Broomhill (2-1).

There have been nine draws against East Stirlingshire (1-1), Broxburn Athletic (2-2), Celtic B (3-3), Broxburn Athletic (0-0), Berwick Rangers (1-1), Cumbernauld Colts (1-1), University of Stirlingshire (2-2), Gala Fairydean Rovers (2-2) and Albion Rovers (0-0). Their 11 defeats have come against University of Stirling (2-3), Tranent (1-2 & 1-2), Gala Fairydean Rovers (1-3), Caledonian Braves (1-2), Linlithgow Rose (1-3 & 2-3), East Kilbride (2-4), Celtic B (1-3), Broomhill (2-3) and Civil Service Strollers (0-1).

In the Scottish Gas Scottish Cup they beat Hill of Beath Hawthorn 2-0 at Keirs Park in a game which went to extra time before losing to Musselburgh Athletic 3-1 at Olive Bank.

In the SPFL Trust Trophy they lost 3-1 to Rangers in a game played at Cappielow Park.

In the South Challenge Cup they beat Livingston United 3-0 at Station Park and Eglington at Kilwinning Sports Club before bowing out to Musselburgh Athletic 4-3 at Newtown Park after extra time.

Their Lowland League Cup run saw wins over Albion Rovers 1-0 at Cliftonhill, Civil Service Strollers 3-1 at Newtown Park and Tranent also at home 3-1 on penalties after a 0-0 draw.


PREVIOUS PARK'S MOTOR GROUP LOWLAND LEAGUE MEETINGS

The first league meeting of the sides in November 2022 at Central Park when an opener from Scott Sinclair was cancelled out by Tom Grant.

The return game a month later saw a 3-1 defeat with Alassan Jones bagging a hat trick and Michael Cunningham pulling a goal back for us.

Last season we lost 4-2 at Newtown Park with Ryan Porteous bagging a brace along with Tom Grant and Keir Foster with Ewan MacPherson and Jamie Docherty getting our goals. The return game at Central Park then saw us lose 2-0 with Keir Foster and Finlay Malcolm on target for the visitors.

Back in October we lost 2-1 at Central Park when Matty McDonald gave us a half time lead before Ryan Porteous and Louis Kennedy got the goals.
