Two earn move to the SPL

PostedJune 23, 2010

Two of the promotion winning squad made the step up to SPL football when Darren McGregor and Paul McQuade agreed deals with former boss Danny Lennon to join St. Mirren.

The double move adds to the clubs growing repuation as a breeding ground for talented young footballers. McGregor makes the move under freedom of contract while McQuade signed up after a compensation deal, including add-ons, was agreed between the two clubs.

McGregor initially came thorugh the youth ranks at Central Park but was released in 2006. A highly succesful 2-year spell in the juniors with Arniston Rangers earned McGregor a move back to the Blue Brazil and he was a stand out as the club won back-to-back promotions from the 3rd to the 1st Division.

McQuade, who joined the club from Dundonald Bluebell in 2007, scored 33 goals in 92 appearances for the Blue Brazil and was nominated for both the 3rd Division and 2nd Division player of the year awards during his 2 and half seasons at Central Park.

Best wishes to both players from everyone at Central Park.
