After our midweek postponement, we get back into Park’s Motor Group Lowland League action when we face Caledonian Braves at Alliance Park with a 3pm kick off.
While we didn’t have a midweek game, the Braves beat East Stirlingshire 4-0 on Wednesday evening which saw them draw level with Celtic B on the 39 point mark, three behind leaders East Kilbride.
Back in August the teams fought out a 1-1 draw at Central Park when a late penalty from Jamie Docherty cancelled out a first half opener from Ross McNeil.
THE OPPOSITION
The Braves opened their Lowland League campaign in blistering form and were unbeaten in their opening 15 games which saw ten wins and five draws.
Their unbeaten league run came to an end when they lost 1-0 at Broxburn and that was followed up with another defeat from Linlithgow Rose at Alliance Park.
Overall, the Braves have won 11 league games against Gala Fairydean Rovers (6-0), East Stirlingshire (1-0), Civil Service Strollers (3-0), Broomhill (1-0), Berwick Rangers (3-0), University of Stirling (2-0), Hearts B (3-2), Celtic B (5-1), Bo’ness United (2-1) and East Stirlingshire (4-0).
Along with the draw at Central Park things have also ended even against Albion Rovers (1-1), Gretna 2008 (0-0 & 2-2), Broxburn Athletic (1-1) and University of Stirling (1-1).
PREVIOUS PARK'S MOTOR GROUP LOWLAND LEAGUE MEETINGS
The first meeting of the sides in 2022 saw Braves win 1-0 at Alliance Park thanks to a Luke Main goal with the return game at Central Park also seeing a 1-0 win in our favour with Alfie Robinson scoring in the last minute.
Last season at Central Park we went two up at Central Park with a Jamie Docherty penalty and Daniel Martins putting through his own net before Greig Stewart and Greig McDowell levelled the score.
The meeting at Alliance Park saw Archie Graham put through his own net before Aiden Clockerty equalised. Jamie Docherty gave us a second half lead but goals in the last five minutes from Josh Gemmell and Jacob Long saw the Braves snatch the points.
