We return to Park’s Motor Group Lowland League action as we welcome Linlithgow Rose to Central Park with a 3pm kick off.
Both sides will be looking to get back into winning ways after exits from the Scottish Gas Scottish Cup last Saturday. While we were going down to Brechin City in extra time the Rose lost 4-0 at home to Raith Rovers.
THE OPPOSITION
The Rose, currently sit in fifth place in the Park’s Motor Group Lowland League with 33 points from their opening 17 games, six behind leaders Celtic B who have played a game more.
In the game between the sides back in August we went down 3-1 at Prestonfield with one time Cowden trialist Jason Comerford and Laurie Devine (2) putting Rose three up before Daryl Healy pulled a goal back for us.
Rose’s other nine league wins have come against Broxburn Athletic (6-2), Gretna 2008 (3-1), Albion Rovers (2-1), East Stirlingshire (2-1), Broomhill (3-1), Civil Service Strollers (1-0), University of Stirling (3-1), Gala Fairydean (3-2) and Caledonian Braves (2-0).
They have had three draws against Gala Fairydean Rovers (1-1), Tranent (2-2) and East Kilbride (0-0). Four defeats have come from Berwick Rangers (0-1), Hearts B (3-4), Celtic B (0-3) and East Stirlingshire (0-1).
In the Scottish Gas Scottish Cup they beat two Highland League sides before facing Raith Rovers firstly Lossiemouth (3-1) and Clachnacuddin (3-0) both at Prestonfield.
In the South Challenge Cup they lost in the opening round 4-3 to fellow Lowland League side Cumbernauld Colts.
PREVIOUS PARK'S MOTOR GROUP LOWLAND LEAGUE MEETINGS
It's an even record in the three previous league meetings between the sides. Last season we drew 1-1 at Central Park with Ewan MacPherson opening the scoring before Alan Sneddon grabbed an equaliser.
The return game at Prestonfield saw us 1-0 thanks to a Jamie Docherty goal early in the game.
Back in August Rose ran out 3-1 winners at Prestonfield thanks to goals from Jason Comerford and brace from Laurie Devine with Daryl Healy pulling a goal back for us.
