MATCH PREVIEW - BERWICK RANGERS (A)

Weather permitting, we head south to face Berwick Rangers as we resume our Park’s Motor Group Lowland League fixtures with a 3pm kick off.

Berwick sit in 13th place with 18 points from their opening 16 games, 3 places and 5 points ahead of us going into the game.


THE OPPOSITION

Berwick had a bright start to their Park’s Motor Group Lowland League campaign winning their opening three games against Linlithgow Rose (1-0), Tranent (3-2) and Civil Service Strollers (2-1) before drawing their fourth 1-1 against Broomhill.

After taking ten points from those games, they have only taken eight points from their subsequent 12 games. A bad run saw them lose to Hearts B (1-6), University of Stirling (0-7), Cumbernauld Colts (0-3) and East Stirlingshire (0-3) which was halted with a win over Herriot Watt University (2-1) in the South Challenge Cup and a goal less draw with Celtic B.

That was followed by a 4-2 win over Cupar Hearts in the Scottish Gas Scottish Cup but in the league, they went onto lose to Bo’ness United (0-1) and East Kilbride (1-7) before going out of the South Challenge Cup (0-3) to Threave Rovers.

They lost 3-0 at Gretna before Scottish Cup exit followed against Forfar Athletic (0-1) and lost to Broxburn Athletic (0-3) and drew with Bo’ness United (1-1) before beating Albion Rovers (3-0) in their last league outing a fortnight ago.

Last Saturday they beat Armadale Thistle 2-0 in an East of Scotland Qualifying Cup tie.
