After three away games we welcome Bo’ness United to Central Park with a 3pm kick off in the Park’s Motor Group Lowland League.
Wednesday nights 8-3 defeat at East Kilbride saw us drop a place to 14th in the table while the BU’s remained seventh following a goalless West Lothian derby draw with Broxburn Athletic at Newtown Park with 19 points from 12 games, eight more than ourselves.
THE OPPOSITION
Last season saw Bo’ness finish in third place in the Park’s Motor Group Lowland League 14 points behind runaway champions East Kilbride but only two behind runners up Hearts B.
Their five wins so far have come against Albion Rovers (2-1), Civil Service Strollers (3-2), Gretna 2008 (3-0) at Newtown Park and away wins at Hearts B (2-0) and Berwick Rangers (1-0). They have had four draws with East Stirlingshire (1-1) and Celtic B (3-3) at home and twice against Broxburn Athletic (1-1 & 0-0). They have also lost three games against University of Stirling (2-3) at Newtown Park and Tranent (1-2) and Caledonian Braves (2-3) on the road.
In the Cups they lost 3-1 to Rangers B in the opening round of the SPFL Trust Trophy in a match played at Cappielow Park.
In the Scottish Gas Scottish Cup they won 4-2 at Highland League Deveronvale and they will be back in the area next Saturday when they meet our neighbours Hill of Beath Hawthorn at Keirs Park.
In the South Challenge Cup Livingston United (3-0) and Eglinton (1-0) while in the Scottish Junior Cup which they entered as a guess club they beat Kilsyth Rangers 3-1 at Newtown Park and now have another home tie against Ardrossan Winton Rovers.
