MATCH PREVIEW - ST CADOC'S (A)

It's Friday night under the lights as we head to New Tinto Park to face St Cadoc’s in round three of the CarMatKings South Challenge Cup with a 7.45pm kick off.

In the previous round we beat Ormiston Primrose 4-1 while St Cadoc’s beat Irvine Victoria 7-0.


THE OPPOSITION

Although the senior side of the St Cadoc’s YC they are quite an experienced side who under the charge of former East Kilbride interim manager Martin Fellows finished in third place in last season’s West of Scotland Premier Division.

Quite a few of their players have faced us in the past in the SPFL with Bob McHugh probably being the best know after scoring a 96th minute equaliser for QOS on the last day of the Championship season ten years ago which meant we had to take part in the play-offs but it all ended well!

So far this season they have won 3 and lost 4 of their 7 league games which leaves them in 10th place of the 16 team division.

The wins came against Gartcairn (3-0), Pollok (1-0) and Shotts Bon Accord (3-0) while they lost to Glenafton Athletic (3-4), Troon (1-2), Clydebank (0-1) and Johnstone Burgh (1-2).

Last Saturday they had a 6-0 home win over BSC Glasgow in the West of Scotland Cup while they also beat Campbelltown Pupils 4-1 in the Strathclyde Demolition Cup.
