Shay Signs

Also joining Cowdenbeath today is central midfielder Shay Burke.

The 18 year old made his Blue Brazil debut as a trialist from the bench on Saturday but has now penned a deal at Central Park.

Shay came through the Falkirk academy and spent last season on loan at Drumchapel United where he helped the club to the WoSFL First Division title and Strathclyde Cup.

After signing on the dotted line, Shay stated "Delighted to get this done. Really looking forward to getting started and working with the gaffer. Thanks to Colin for getting this over the line and sorting everything out. Can't wait to get involved with games now."

The gaffer commented "Shay is a player that was brought to my attention early on we tried to sign him but he wanted to try and win a deal at a higher level, which I actually really like. He’s combative and has real quality on the ball, I’m glad we got a second bite and managed to get him over the line, looking forward to working with him this year."

While Football Operations Co-ordinator Colin Nelson added "Happy to finally get Shay on board. He is someone we have watched for a while and spoke to a good few times. He's different to our other midfielders and is off the back off a successful loan to Drumchapel from Falkirk. Glad to get this done permanently and add to the squad."
