Cowdenbeath FC today were very pleased to finalise the signing of Ethan Kerr for next season.
23-year old Ethan joins us from Heriot Watt University where he has featured most prominently in their highly successful side in the last few years under Head Coach Banji Koya. Ethan has skippered the side and shared in successes which have included winning the King Cup twice, promotion to the East of Scotland 1st Division, and most recently winning the prestigious Queen’s Park Shield by defeating University of Stirling in the final for the second time in the last 3 years. They also gained promotion to the National League North where they joined the Stirling University side as Scotland’s representatives after winning the BUCS Scottish championship and the consequent play offs in 2023.
Cowdenbeath FC Football Operations Co-ordinator Colin Nelson was delighted to get Ethan’s signing over the line – "He is someone who was identified early last season through our scouting network and thereafter we continued to keep tabs on him. Ethan is a left sided centre back who will give us balance and options. He is highly motivated to do well after a hugely successful period at Heriot Watt where he was captain for a number of years. Kudos go to Heriot Watt who really made a significant contribution in supporting Ethan’s development during his time there."
Cowden boss Dougie Hill said, "Really happy that we have added Ethan to the squad. He has some great attributes – he is a good size and naturally left sided which I like. He has lots of potential and I look forward to working with him."
Ethan also shared his thoughts as he signed on the dotted line – "Buzzing to get in and to get started. It’s a step up for me so really looking forward to testing myself at a higher level. After speaking with Dougie and Colin, I was really sold on the club and their ambitions, and just couldn’t wait to get going."
