Departures And Thanks

Posted May 25, 2024

It’s that time of year again when we bid farewell to some of the players and staff that served the club last season. We can firstly confirm that today we concluded a deal with Camelon Juniors for the transfer of Lucas Berry. Our very best wishes go to Lucas as he sets out on this new phase of his career after his two seasons at Central Park.

Cieran Chalmers meantime is also leaving us, and it was a pleasure to have him with us in season 2023/24 - a local lad, he was a popular presence at the club and his versatility proved most valuable throughout the campaign.

Fans favourite Zac Butterworth was offered a new and improved deal to stay with us, but a number of clubs had of course readily recognised his undoubted ability and potential after his performances for the club last season. He has therefore intimated to us that he intends to accept one of the attractive offers made to him by other clubs – thus Zac’s future now lies elsewhere. He too goes with our very best wishes. We will also miss seeing Zac’s mum and dad at Central Park – and thank them for their support. We wish them all the best for the future.

Declan Turner, who was injured near the end of the season, is leaving and we believe is likely to return home to Australia whilst Scott Walker too will depart as his loan deal and contract expire. Again, we thank them for their service and wish them well.

Also leaving us with our best wishes for the future are physio Tam McIntyre and goalkeeping coach Ricky Jensen who have served us well in their time at Central Park.

Finally, we additionally thank our loan players Craig Hepburn, Adam MacDonald and Craig Donald for their assistance in season 2023/24 and the contribution they each made. We hope that their spells at Central Park proved both enjoyable and enhanced their development. Thanks of course also go out to St Johnstone, Motherwell and Dundee for agreeing to assist us by loaning the lads to us last season.
