MATCH PREVIEW - GRETNA 2008 (A)

Posted October 7, 2023

After a run of five home matches we are back on the road this afternoon as we head to Raydale Park to face Gretna 2008 with a 3pm kick off.

LAST TIME OUT

Last Saturday we had a disappointing 2-0 home defeat from Cumbernauld Colts who scored either side of half time. It was only the second time that we have failed to score in a league game this season with the other being our goal less draw with Broomhill.

THE OPPOSITION

It has been a tough start to managerial life for former Central Parker Bryan Gilfillan who has seen his side lose 11 of their opening 12 league games with their only win being at Raydale Park when they beat Civil Service Strollers with the three points keeping them off the foot of the table two points ahead of Edinburgh University.

The season started with heavy defeats from Hearts B (0-7), East Kilbride (0-7) and Linlithgow Rose (2-9).

Subsequently they have lost to Bo’ness United (0-2), Albion Rovers (0-4), East Stirlingshire (1-4), Cumbernauld Colts (0-6), Tranent (0-8), Caledonian Braves (0-4), Berwick Rangers (0-1) and Gala (1-4).

There has been some respite in the cup competitions with a 2-1 win over Darvel in the South Challenge Cup and a 5-3 penalty shoot out win over Musselburgh Athletic in the Scottish Gas Scottish Cup following a 1-1 draw.
