Match Preview: Cowdenbeath v Alloa Athletic

Posted May 4, 2010

Central Park will host its most important game of the season on Wednesday night (kick off 7.45pm) when the Blue Brazil pit their wits against Alloa Athletic in the 1st leg of the Irn-Bru First Division Play Off semi-final.

The winner of the double header will progress to face either Brechin City or Airdrie United the final with one of the four teams destined to play First Division football next season - with the season finished for most of the SFL there is only one place for thrills and spills on Wednesday night for football fans.

The Club was relegated to the 3rd Division at the end of the 2007/08 campaign yet just under two years later Lennon has transformed the team into one of the best part-time sides in Scotland. Whatever happens between now and the conclusion of the season it has been a remarkable journey with Central Park hopefully the setting for many more big match occasions.

Danny Lennon welcomes Mark Baxter, Joe Mbu, Paul McQuade and Gareth Wardlaw back into the squad but will be missing the injured Dene Droudge and suspended pair of John Armstrong and Craig Winter. 'Toorie' completes his two-game ban on Tuesday night while Armstrong is only out for one so both will be available for the 2nd leg at Recreation Park on Saturday.
