MATCH PREVIEW - ARBROATH (A)

Posted July 19, 2023

This evening we face Championship side Arbroath at Gayfield Park as we continue our Viaplay cup Group H fixtures with a 7.45pm kick off.

LAST TIME OUT

On Saturday, with nine players in the starting line up making their debut, we went down 1-0 at Forfar with Kieran Inglis getting the only goal of the afternoon.

THE OPPOSITION

Dick Campbell’s side will be kicking off a fifth successive season in the second tier, no mean feat for a part time side.

The Red Lichties were the idle team in the group on Saturday but won a friendly game against League One Falkirk at the Falkirk Stadium.

Former Central Parkers in their ranks are captain Thomas O’Brien and one- time loanee David Gold.

Arbroath have made eight new summer signings – Craig Slater (Forfar Athletic), Leighton McIntosh (Cove Rangers), Aaron Steele (East Fife), Alasdair Adams (Musselburgh Athletic), Mark Stowe (Linlithgow Rose), Kennan Dunnwald-Turan (Straelen), Jessy Norey (Barking) and Jay Bird (Dagenham & Redbridge).
