MATCH PREVIEW - DALBEATTIE STAR (A)

It's our penultimate away Lowland League game of the season as we face Dalbeattie Star at Galabank in Annan with a 3pm kick off.

The match was switched from the Islecroft Stadium on Tuesday afternoon due to problems with the pitch due to the recent weather.

It has been a tough season for the Dumfriesshire side who sit bottom of the table with six points from their 30 games. They sit four points behind Edinburgh University although the have played three games less than the students with the two sides going head to head at East Peffermill next Saturday.

Their only win of the campaign came back on 8th October when they beat Berwick Rangers at Islecroft but since then they have only taken two further points in 2-2 draws with East Stirlingshire at home and Civil Service Strollers at Christie Gillies Park.

Star’s other point this season was on their visit to Central Park in mid August in a 1-1 draw with Liam Craig gave them a half time lead with Aiden Gilmartin equalising just after the break.

There are a few Cowden connections at Dalbeattie – Bryan Gillfillan is co-assistant manager with both Mason McCready and David Cox in the playing squad.
