Sam Signs For Rest Of Season

Today we took steps to further bolster our squad for the remainder of the season by agreeing a loan deal with our neighbours at East End Park. Joining Cowden now until the end of this season is centre back Sam Young. Sam (17) is a local lad who came through the ranks of the Fife Elite Football Academy and he signed a contract with Dunfermline last summer. Prior to that Sam played with Bayside FC and for Dunfermline High School.

Cowden’s Team Co-ordinator Colin Nelson said once the deal was concluded, "I'm delighted to welcome Sam Young to the squad. I've seen Sam play for Dunfermline reserves quite a few times as has our management team. He also has played minutes for the first team at Dunfermline. We look forward now to playing a part in his development. My thanks to Greg Shields and Dunfermline for allowing us the opportunity to have Sam with us at Central Park."

Sam meantime also shared his thoughts, "I'm excited to go out on loan to Cowdenbeath to personally kick on and earn myself some game time at a senior level but more importantly to do my best to help the team out for the rest of the season."
