Cowden boss Maurice Ross was delighted today to clinch the signing of Iain Davidson.
Iain of course will be very familiar to our fans from his days with his home town club Raith Rovers. He played in over 500 matches for Raith, many as their skipper. He also played for Dundee in the top flight and latterly has been at Brechin City. Iain brings a wealth of experience to Central Park and can play as a defensive midfielder or at centre back.
We are pleased to have Iain now with us at Cowdenbeath.
Speaking today, Iain said, "I am looking forward now to a new challenge at Cowdenbeath, a club l know well being a Fifer. Colin Nelson played a big part in bringing me to the club and explaining what they were needing in respect of helping guide a young squad, as well as to to try and progress back up the leagues after difficult times recently. So hopefully, slowly but surely, we can go in the right direction.
I hope to bring some much needed experience given the average age of the lads. Mind you there has been a big turn over and a lot of changes so it will take a bit of time. As long as we’re trying to do the right things as a club then we will get there.
I had good conversations with the Gaffer and the Chairman regarding myself and the club and I liked what they had to say."
