MATCH PREVIEW - CUMBERNAULD COLTS (H)

Posted August 20, 2022

It’s a second successive home game as we welcome Cumbernauld Colts in the Traderadiators.com South Challenge Cup First Round with a 3pm kick off.

Whilst we are making our debut in the competition it will be the Colts 20th game in the competition with their best ever run seeing them reach the final in 2017 when they went down 4-2 to East Kilbride at the Falkirk Stadium.

It will be the third time they have met a Fife club in the cup having lost 4-2 on penalties to Hill of Beath Hawthorn following a 1-1 draw at Keirs Park in season 2019-20 and last season they had a 2-0 home win over Rosyth.

Whilst we were drawing with Dalbeatie last Saturday, the Colts were the odd team out in the 19 team Lowland League.

The Broadwood Stadium side currently sit in tenth place in the league with six points following two wins and three defeats. After losing their opening three games, Bo’ness United (0-3), Tranent Juniors (1-2) and Rangers B (3-6), they have won their last two against East Stirlingshire (3-2) and Dalbeattie Star (5-2).

Scott Sinclair misses out due to a suspension after being sent off playing for Bo’ness Athletic last season but new keeper Jack Ruddy could make his debut along with our new loan signing from Dundee United Layton Bisland.
