Mason Joins Cowden

Are we going to sign a goalkeeper was the rather odd question we kept being asked?! There was of course always a simple answer to that one! But to provide a more definitive answer, Cowdenbeath FC were pleased to finalise a loan deal with Partick Thistle today with their talented custodian Mason McCready (19) joining us at Central Park.

Mason was born in Rhode Island in the USA and has progressed through the Thistle Weir Academy since first signing for Thistle in 2015 to now become an understudy to former Cowden favourite Jamie Sneddon at Firhill. Mason already has experience of playing in the Lowland League as he had a spell with Gala Fairydean Rovers last season.

He was our trialist 'keeper last Wednesday and we now offer him the warmest welcome from all at the Blue Brazil after concluding the signing formalities. Our thanks go to our friends at Firhill for all their generous assistance in arranging matters.
