Our midweek fixtures open with a trip over the hill to face league leaders Kelty Hearts at New Central Park with a 7.45pm kick off.
Although the length of cinch League Two separates the sides, the two previous meetings have been close affairs.
Back on the opening day of the season Kelty started life in League Two with a 2-0 home game against us. Joe Cardle went down in history as the home sides first SPFL goal scorer when he netted seven minutes from the break. Our best spell in the match came at the start of the second half and we had the chance to equalise when Liam Buchanan had a penalty, after two previous claims had been waived aside, but his spot kick was saved by former Livingston team mate Darren Jamieson. Ross Philp, the only man surviving from the junior days, then sealed a home win with a second goal after 69 minutes before a crowd of 1202 which is the highest SPFL crowd at New Central Park.
The return game at Central Park saw Maurice Ross take charge for the first time and a stern performance looked like earning a point until Joe Cardle took advantage of an error with 16 minutes to go to give the Maroon’s their second win over us.
On Saturday Kelty saw their lead at the to cut to six points when a Matty Aitken goal gave Forfar 1-0 win at Station Park, although the Loons have played two games more.
