MATCH PREVIEW - FORFAR ATHLETIC (A)

Posted November 20, 2021

It’s a second successive away game as we head to Station Park to face second place Forfar Athletic with a 3pm kick off.

Following relegation last season the Loons have adapted well to life in Cinch League Two and currently sit in second place with 23 points from their opening 13 games. A seven match unbeaten league and cup run (five wins and two draws) was brought to an end last week at Kelty in a 1-0 defeat from the leaders.

That form saw manager Gary Irvine pick up the Glen’s Manager of the Month award for October.

Our previous meeting with the Loons this season came back in September when a 1-1 draw kick off their impressive run. Matty Aitken had given the visitors a half time lead but a stunning 30 free kick from Craig Thomson with eight minutes to go ensure us a point.

Since then, however we have only taken one further point against Edinburgh City and manager Maurice Ross will be looking to halt our run of five successive defeats. The manager however will once again have to do without the services of our second top goal scorer Kris Renton due to injury.

Our last win at Station Park was almost six years ago when a Greig Spence gave us a 1-0 win in December 2015 in a League Two clash, our most recent visits were the following season when we lost 4-3 and 3-1
