It’s the start of two successive away Cinch League Two games as we head to Borough Briggs with a 3pm kick off.
City are the only side that we have defeated so far in the league with two penalties from Liam Buchanan and Luke Mahady’s first senior goal helping us to a 3-1 win back in August at Central Park with Darryl McHardy pulling a goal back for the Moray side.
Gavin Price’s side have fared little better than us so far and sit just above us in the table with nine points. They have beaten Albion Rovers 3-0 at home and Stenhousemuir 2-1 at Ochilview Park, while their other three points have come from draws against Stranraer and Forfar at home and Kelty Hearts at New Central Park with the same 1-1 score line in the games.
In similar fashion to us they crashed out of the Scottish Cup to non league opposition with West of Scotland League Clydebank winning a Borough Briggs replay 2-1 following a 1-1 draw at Holm Park. Last Saturday they lost 2-1 to Forfar at Station Park which was their sixth successive game without a win.
Our previous game of course saw us put in an improved performance in Maurice Ross’s debut game but were caught out by a late goal to league leaders Kelty.
This will be the 39th league meeting of the sides since Elgin joined the SFL in the summer of 2000. So far we have won 20, drawn 8 and lost 10 of those matches.
