Match Preview: Stirling Albion v Cowdenbeath

Posted March 27, 2010

The Blue Brazil make the short trip down the M9 to face fellow promotion hopefuls Stirling Albion at Forthbank Stadium in the first match of a crucial double header.

The 3-1 win over Clyde in midweek extended our unbeaten run to seven games and moved us six points clear of this weekend's opponents. Stirling have two games in hand but with the two sides crossing swords again at Central Park on Tuesday night the pressure is on Allan Moore's side to make up some ground on the top two.

Fixtures between Cowdenbeath and Stirling Albion have been very close this season with the Forthbank team slightly edging it over the two games so far with a narrow win at Central Park early in the season while a late John Ferguson goal earned the Blue Brazil a well deserved 2-2 draw in the return fixture.

Gareth Wardlaw returns to the squad after suspension while Craig Winter is back in contention. Dene Droudge is a doubt but Danny Mackay returns to the squad for the first time since injuring his cruciate ligaments last May.
