MATCH PREVIEW – POLLOK (A)

We make our first public appearance since 28th November when we play West of Scotland League side Pollok at Newlandsfield Park before a sell out crowd of 250 home fans.

Whilst we have only played one friendly match so far our hosts have played four games so far in the build up to the new season after spending last term on the sidelines.

Their season kicked off with a home 4-0 defeat from Auckinleck Talbot on 19th June which was followed up four days later with a 1-0 win over Linlithgow Rose at Newlandsfield courtesy of a Shaun Fraser goal.

The month then closed with another win and a defeat, firstly Arthurlie were beaten at home 3-0 with goals from Jordan Shelvey, Josh Weir and Callum Graham, while the trip to Yoker Athletic on Wednesday night saw a 1-0 loss.

The hosts have several ex-SPFL players in their squad including Mark Sidederf who played against us for Albion Rovers last season whilst on loan.

The most recent connection between the clubs is Iain Russell who played for us on loan last season scoring two goals as he wound down his 19 year career by scoring his 201st senior goal in our 2-0 win over Albion Rovers in the closing night of the season.
