Congratulations from all at Cowdenbeath FC to our near neighbours Kelty Hearts FC on their tremendous achievement in reaching the SPFL after today’s play off. Kelty truly led the way for the Scottish Junior game when they joined the senior ranks and today was a wonderful landmark moment as their journey continued on into the SPFL. We are sure everyone involved at New Central Park will be raising a glass to celebrate tonight. Well done indeed! Now we look forward to the exciting prospect of L2 Fife derby matches next season – indeed our first derby league fixtures in six years. Both Cowden and Kelty of course are based in the historic Beath parish – the beating heart of Fife football!
Commiserations though of course go to all our old friends at Brechin City. We enjoy a warm relationship with City who have been our respected opponents and members of the Scottish League for so many years. They bravely battled all the way today and we appreciate just how low they will all feel tonight at the Glebe. But we are sure they will regroup and come back strong – we send Ken and everyone at City every good wish for the future.
