Loan Signing

Cowden boss Gary Bollan moved today to augment the club’s forward resources when he secured the Temporary Transfer of Iain Russell from West of Scotland League side Pollok.

Pollok recently announced they would not take part in this season’s inaugural West of Scotland League season due to the Covid-19 situation.

Iain Russell is of course very well known to Cowden fans for his goalscoring exploits with Dumbarton, Brechin City, Morton, Stirling Albion, Livingston, Queen of the South and Airdrie. His Scottish League career has spanned over 500 senior games and 199 goals. Indeed, he has often been a thorn in our side so it will be a pleasure and a bit of a relief to see him sporting a blue jersey! Iain is expected to be available to play in about a fortnight’s time.
