Broonie makes exit

Posted July 3, 2009

Cowden have parted company with Graeme Brown by mutual consent. The 28-year old, who is a lawyer in Glasgow, was finding it difficult to combine his work commitments with training through in Fife.

“I would like to thank Graeme for his efforts. He will always be remembered fondly at this club and we wish him all the best”, said Danny Lennon.

‘Broonie' re-joined the club last January from Alloa Athletic for his 2nd spell at Central Park and scored once from 17 appearances (9 of those as a sub).

The Blue Brazil Hall of Fame inductee originally joined Cowden as a 16-year old from Broomhall Saints in 1997. The talented forward quickly made his way into the 1st team and is one of the few players to have scored for Cowden whilst just 16 - he also found time to score 18 goals in 24 games for the under 19s in his debut season. ‘Broonie' became the first ever Cowden player to score more than 50 league goals and make more than 200 league appearances before moving onto to Ayr United in January 2004. A true Cowden legend.

All the best Graeme from everyone at Central Park.
