MATCH PREVIEW – COVE RANGERS (A)

Matchday 3 in Ladbrokes League 2 sees us make our first ever visit to the Balmoral Stadium to face Cove Rangers with a 3pm kick off.

Last season’s Highland League champions, now with Paul Hartley at the helm, have made a dramatic start to life in the SPFL with a 5-0 home win over Edinburgh City on the opening day and a 4-4 draw with Albion Rovers at Cliftonhill last Saturday after leading at the break.

Cove lead the table having the best goal difference of the five sides on four points.

In midweek they had a 2-1 win over Brora Rangers in the Tunnock’s Caramel Wafer Cup at Dudgeon Park and now face Welsh side Connah’s Quay Nomads in the Third Round.

Michael Herd has now served his suspension and comes back into the squad along with new signings Colin Hamilton and Connor Smith.

Captain David Cox is also eligible despite his midweek red card in the Tunnock’s Caramel Wafer Cup.
