Invitation to All Season Ticket Holders

In November 1972, Cowdenbeath FC Chairman Charlie Gronbach presided over the opening of the Cowdenbeath Development Club adjacent to the entrance to Central Park (now the Shimla). It had been built at a cost of £38,500 and the new club’s lounge was then named the Andy Matthew Lounge in honour of the then club manager Andy Matthew who had taken the club into the top flight in 1970. The Development Club though foundered after a few years.

On 10 August 2019, the new Andy Matthew Lounge at Central Park is being officially opened in the presence of members of the Matthew family and players from that great era of around 50 years ago. All season ticket-holders are cordially invited to attend the opening ceremony in the upstairs lounge at Central Park – the actual ceremony will take place round about 2pm but please look in and enjoy a drink beforehand as the bar will be open from 1pm.
