Jordan Allan
Jordan had originally signed a short term deal with us which expired on 13 January. Following discussions with Jordan, Cowdenbeath FC boss Gary Bollan was delighted to secure Jordan’s signature extending his stay at Central Park until the end of this season. Jordan has shown up well in his time with us as he gains match sharpness and has already weighed in with a couple of goals.
Brad Smith
As many fans will know, Brad Smith has not been involved at Central Park for some months. He is presently studying in Dundee and was finding it difficult to combine his studies with his commitment to Cowdenbeath FC. He was therefore effectively on an agreed leave of absence. Following discussions with Brad and given his service to the club (including that goal v Cove) we agreed that we would be willing to allow him to move on to play in the local juniors in the Dundee area. A small fee was agreed for Brad’s transfer to Broughty Athletic and Brad has now left us – we wish him all the best with his studies and in his football.
Pat Scullion
Pat Scullion’s contract with the club expired on 5 January and was not extended. Latterly, Pat had been out due to injury but he was back on the bench last Saturday. We offer grateful thanks to Pat for all his fine service to Cowdenbeath FC over three separate spells – including of course our 2006 Third Division championship success. It has been a pleasure to have Pat at Central Park, he always showed a great deal of loyalty and passion for the Blue Brazil over the years and served us well. Pat played 118 games for Cowdenbeath FC and scored 9 goals – 3 of them winning the Cowdenbeath Goal of the Season Award in 3 different seasons! All of us at Central Park wish him all the very best for the future.
Cameron Muirhead
Cammy’s loan spell with Civil Service Strollers ended on 3rd January and he has now returned to the Central Park fold after gaining more experience and scoring goals in the Lowland League.
Blue Brazil Lottery
A couple of weeks ago the jackpot prize of £2600 was won. The lucky winner was longtime Cowden fan Colin Harrower. Chairman Donald Findlay therefore was pleased to be able to present a delighted Colin with his cheque before our last home math v Berwick Rangers.
Andy Murray
It was very sad to hear the news of Andy’s impending retirement due to injury. Andy’s grandfather Roy Erskine of course played for Cowdenbeath FC and both he and Andy along with brother Jamie were inducted as Honorary Members of the Cowdenbeath Supporters Club around 10 years ago. On behalf of Cowdenbeath FC we thank Sir Andy for all the joy, excitement and triumph he provided – he made all Scotland and Britain proud.
