MATCH PREVIEW - CIVIL SERVICE STROLLERS (A)

A mere seven weeks after our Play Off Final win over Cove Rangers and the new season begins as we head to north Edinburgh to face Lowland League side Civil Service Strollers at Christie Gillies Park with a 3pm kick off.

The Strollers finished their second season in the Lowland League in seventh place with 40 points from their 30 games which saw a jump of five places on their debut season in the league.

Former Edinburgh City manager Gary Jardine has now taken over as manager at Christie Gillies Park after spending the second half of last season as assistant manager to Alex Cunningham following his departure from City in October.

Cunningham stepped down from the manager role after three seasons in charge to take a place on the clubs committee but left in style with his side winning the South Region Challenge Cup Final in May beating BSC Glasgow at Olive Bank in Musselburgh with Paolo scoring a spectacular overhead kick in extra time to secure a 2-1 win. Steven Froude had given the Edinburgh side the lead but Josh McArthur leveled for BSC.

The game will give Cowden fans their first opportunity to see Gary Bollan's new signings at first hand.
