Sandy Stands Down

Posted June 13, 2018

Cowdenbeath FC can confirm that long-serving Director Sandy Ferguson has decided to stand down from the Board and retire as a Director. Sandy will though continue in his role as the club's Honorary President. Sandy originally joined the Board in 2008 along with David Allan and Dave Tuson from the Supporters Club. He thus has enjoyed a decade of drama as a Director and all the highs and lows of that period. Sandy of course has been a Cowden fan all his days and his family has been associated with the club since its inception way back in 1880. As most folks know Sandy is a retired diplomat having served in countries such as the USA, Iraq and Portugal.

Chairman Donald Findlay commented, 'On behalf of the Board of Cowdenbeath FC and indeed everyone associated with the Club I wish Sandy all the very best on his retirement. He has been a wonderful servant to the Club and it has been a real pleasure to work alongside Sandy over the years. Indeed it was Sandy who largely set in motion the chain of events which led to me becoming involved with my home town club - yes, he is the man I blame! I also offer Sandy my own heartfelt personal thanks for his contribution and also the thanks of all his Board colleagues and I am sure all our fans. Our Honorary President of course will still be at Central Park to cheer on his team and thus we will all continue to have the privilege of Sandy's company at Central Park'.
