MATCH PREVIEW - STENHOUSEMUIR (H)

PostedDecember 19, 2017

After three blank Saturday's due to the weather hopefully we will get back into Ladbrokes League Two action with Stenhousemuir with Stenhousemuir as our visitors for the game which kicks off at 7.45pm.

While we have been idle Brown Freguson's side have had mixed fortunes in the two games which followed the postponement at Central Park on 2nd December.

A fortnight ago they went down 3-1 at home to Annan Athletic with Blair Henderson hitting a hat trick after Colin McMenamin had opened the scoring for the Warriors.

Last week however they ran out 2-1 winners over Edinburgh City at Ainslie Park with goals from Harry Paton and Mark McGuighan, with his 14th goal of the season, either side of Mark Laird's equaliser for City. All the goals came in a busy first half and City scorned the chance of an equaliser with Farid El Alagui blazing a penalty kick over the bar in the second half.

The result put the Warriors back into the top four but are nine points behind leaders Montrose and left City two points ahead of us although they have now played two games more.

Over the other end of the capital city Gary Bollan saw his side draw 3-3 in a friendly game with junior side Tranent at the Oriam indoor pitch to keep the team ticking over ahead of this week's scheduled games with the Warriors and Peterhead.

For Tuesday's game David Syme is once again suspended as he looks to eventually completed the third game of his suspension after being sent off against Elgin last month.
