With no Ladbrokes League Two game this weekend due to the international break we open our defence of the Fife Cup when we make our way up the Fife coast to face East Fife at Bayview in a first round tie with an earlier than normal kick off time of 1 pm.
We had of course been meant to meet the Fifers in the semi final last season but the Methil side withdrew due to a number of League One games outstanding. This allowed us to progress to the final where we beat Raith Rovers 2-1 thanks to goals from Ryan Connelly and Cameron Muirhead.
The match see's manager Billy Brown return to the ground where he was manager from November 2012 until June 2013, winning the League One play off to retain their third tier status. Goalkeeper coach Jim Moffat is of course another former East Fife manager who guided them to promotion in 2003 while assistant manager John Ovenstone captained them to the Third Division title in 2008.
There will be a few familiar faces in Black and Gold with former Central Parkers Chris Kane and Scott Linton in the East Fife side.
Darren Young's side currently sit in fifth place in Ladbrokes League One with 12 points from their opening eight games, just two points off the promotion play offs.
