Two Join Up At Central Park

Posted July 13, 2017

The club is very pleased to announce that Manager Billy Brown has signed Matthew McInally, a full back from Partick Thistle. Matthew put pen to paper at Central Park tonight. He is a product of Thistle’s Weir Youth Academy and made his first team debut for the Jags in season 2015/16. Aged just 19, Matthew is a right back but he has also shown himself to be more than adept in playing in a more attacking role on the right hand side. A very warm welcome goes to Matthew from everyone at Central Park.

Cowdenbeath FC can also confirm that Jim Moffat has been appointed goalkeeping coach at Central Park. Jim of course hails from Cowdenbeath where he was a pupil at Broad Street and Beath High Schools. Jim was just 16 when he was signed by Manchester City. His career between the sticks though was eventually to flourish in Scotland where he made over 300 league appearances for Montrose, Forfar, East Fife, Hamilton, Dunfermline, East Stirling and Albion Rovers as well as in two spells with Cowden.

Jim then moved into management and took East Fife to promotion in 2003 in their Centenary season. Later, he also had a spell as manager of Forfar and was assistant manager at Montrose. Off the pitch Jim is a PE teacher – he was principal teacher of PE at Bell Baxter High in Cupar for many years and now fulfils the same role at St Columba’s High in Dunfermline. So now we say welcome back home to Jim.
