Reduced derby prices!

Posted January 13, 2010

Weather permitting, Cowdenbeath will play their first game of 2010 this Saturday with a trip to face neighbours East Fife in a Second Division fixture. The Methill club are offering reduced admission for this game with prices set at £10 for adults and £5 for concessions.

"The weather is improving and the signs are looking more positive that we will have a game this weekend so fingers crossed", said an optimistic Danny Lennon.

"The boys are itching for competitive action after being limited to training - mainly indoors - due to the recent spell of cold weather. It has been a frustrating spell and even finding suitable locations for training has been a challenge. We have used places like the Corn Exchange in Edinburgh and Pitreavie but the lads have worked very hard and it has been a bit like a mini pre-season for them.

"On the plus side the break has allowed niggling injuries to clear up and players like Wardlaw, Winter, Armstrong and Mbu have benefited. Another major boost has been the return to full training of Darren McGregor, Danny Mackay and John Dempster. All need to build up their match fitness before competing for a first team place but it's like having three new signings."
