Trio on the mend

Posted January 8, 2010

Long-term injury victims Darren McGregor, Danny Mackay and John Dempster are on the mend after returning to full training.

"It's great news for everyone at the club", said a delighted Danny Lennon.

"They are very important players and will add much to the squad once their match fitness is increased."

McGregor was one of the star performers last season but missed the start of the 2nd Division campaign due to knee surgery and was then laid low by mystery chest infection. The highly-rated defender is now on his way back to fitness after returning to full training and could be ready for competitive action in February. 18-year old Danny Mackay was the Supporters Club 'Young Player of the Year' last season but suffered a serious cruciate injury during the play-off match with East Stirling last May. His rehabilitation has gone well and the young midfielder now needs games to get his match fitness up. Experienced forward Dempster picked up a groin injury at the end of August and is another player who needs games before adding competition to an already highly successful squad.
