MATCH PREVIEW - EDINBURGH CITY (H)

Following the disappointment of Saturday's 4-1 defeat at Arbroath we will be looking to bounce back against Edinburgh City on Tuesday night, kick off 7.45 p.m., in the first of two home games this week.

City of course sit a place and four points ahead of us in the league table having played two games more. The two previous meetings earlier in the season have gone in our favour with a 2-0 home win in August thanks to goals from Kris Renton and Lewis Moore while the return game at Meadowbank in November once again saw Renton opening the scoring with Dougie Gair getting an equaliser for the Citizens with 11 minutes to go.

After a purple patch in November and December which saw a eight game unbeaten league run which earned manager Gary Jardine successive Manager of the Month awards 2017 has been a slow starter for City with two draws, against Clyde and Montrose, in their last seven games with the others ending in defeat, the latest being on Saturday when they went down 1-0 at Stirling.

There is one former Cowden player in the City squad, although there was speculation of another signing on Monday, Joe Mbu who makes a welcome return to Central Park where he spent five successful years.
