Merry Christmas!

Posted December 24, 2009

Cowdenbeath Football Club would like to wish everyone a Merry Christmas and a relaxing festive period.

The Blue Brazil go into the festive period as the Irn-Bru Second Division's Christmas and New Year number one after the division's late newcomers rose to the top of the league in early November and have remained there ever since. Danny Lennon's talented young side last tasted league defeat at the end of September and have now gone an impressive ten league games unbeaten.

"It has been a fantastic first half of the season for us and our league position is an early Christmas present for our fans and a reward for sticking by the club", said Lennon.

"The club will certainly not be resting on its laurels and I can assure you that the coaching staff and players will be working hard over the festive period in preperation for our next game. You have a group of players at this club that you can be proud of and we will all continue to work hard in order to maintain and improve on the standards that we have set.

"Thanks for your backing. You can continue to do your bit by keeping up your tremendous support - the players and staff really do appreciate it. You could also encourage friends and family to come along to games, take part in our excellent lottery or even volunteer at Central Park. By working together we can make the football club and local community stronger.

"Unfortunately there will not be a Boxing day game to enjoy after the game with Alloa was postponed due to the conditions but I hope that everyone enjoys a relaxing break and we all look forward to seeing you all at Central Park in the near future.

"On behalf of the Board, coaching staff, players and staff I would like to wish all Blue Brazilians and their families, home and abroad, a Merry Christmas."

Cowden's next scheduled game is the home league fixture against Clyde on Saturday 2nd January 2010. The Club was due to have a free the following weekend but the recently posptoned Arbroath game has been pencilled in for Saturday 9th January @3pm.
