Margaret Ross

Posted December 16, 2016

Today everyone at Central Park was greatly saddened to learn of the sudden death of Dunfermline Athletic director Margaret Ross in the early hours of this morning at the age of 65.  Dunfermline Chairman Ross McArthur announced the sad news today and led the tributes to someone who gave so much to the club.  Margaret Ross was the first chair of the Pars Supporters Trust back in 2004 and played a key part in the survival of Dunfermline Athletic after the club plunged into administration in 2013.  She led fans fund-raising efforts and, as part of Pars United, helped bring the club back from the brink.  She then joined the board as the supporters’ representative via the Pars Supporters Trust.

Cowdenbeath FC can only pass on our sincere condolences to all connected with Dunfermline Athletic and to all Margaret’s friends and family including her partner Tom.  She was very well known personally to many of us at Cowdenbeath FC and we always greatly enjoyed her company in the Boardroom or in meetings.  Whether it was Cowden winning 3-0 in the play off or the Pars beating us 7-1 Margaret was always good humoured and good company.  She was a great football enthusiast and a great representative of Dunfermline Athletic.  She will be much missed by us all.
