MATCH PREVIEW - MONTROSE (H)

Posted November 11, 2016

After two successive away games in Ladbrokes League Two we return to Central Park on Saturday afternoon when we face Montrose with a 3 p.m. kick off.

Last Saturday of course saw a battling performance at Berwick with young Cameron Muirhead scoring at the last gasp to earn us a point after Dean Brett had saw an earlier penalty bounce off the under side of the crossbar.

This will be the Gable Endies first visit to Central Park in over seven years with the last meeting coming on St Patrick's Day 2009 when John Gemmell hit an early brace for us in a 2-1 win with former Central Parker Jamie McKenzie pulling a goal back for the visitors.

It was a similar score when the sides met at Links Park back in September. Gary Fraser had given the home side the lead just before the break from the penalty spot but his goal was quickly cancelled out by Gary Glen while Kris Renton got what proved to be the winner just after the interval.

The Gable Endies were in action on Tuesday night at Annan in a match which was postponed a fortnight ago due to Annan's Scottish Cup relay at East Stirlingshire. Their 3-2 win, all three of their league wins this season have come away from home, saw them move from ninth place up to seventh in the table.

Former Central Parker iain Campbell scored at both ends on Tuesday night while the other ex Cowden man at Links Park keeper Allan Fleming was yellow carded in the first half.
