MATCH PREVIEW - ANNAN ATHLETIC (H)

Posted October 13, 2016

Following the international break we return to Ladbrokes League Two action on Saturday afternoon as we face Annan Athletic at Central Park with a 3 p.m.

The game marks the close of the first quarter of the league campaign which disappointingly see's us sit second from bottom of the table following our opening eight matches.

This will be only Annan's third visit to Central Park with their previous games coming in their first league campaign back in season 2008/09.Their first visit was in fact their first ever game in the SFL when they came from behind to win 4-1 in what was Danny Lennon's first league game in charge of us.

Paul McQuade had given us an early lead but a brace from Mike Jack, with his opener coming from the penalty spot, Steven Archibald and Darren Johnstone took the points back to the south west. The return game the following January saw us run out 1-0 winners with John Gemmell getting our goal.

After missing out on a play off spot last season on goal difference following a 1-0 defeat to Queen's Park Annan currently sit in fifth place with 12 points from eight games.

One former Cowden man in the Annan squad is David McKenna who was signed in the summer from East Stirlingshire and so far he has scored five league goals.
